MAC Fair Share Participation Program
MAC Fair Share Participation Program
Your Participation = MAC's Success = Your Swimmer's Success
Success in the sport of swimming requires commitment to a participation level in the water, to listen to the coach, to take the instruction and apply it to your movement, and to patiently experience the improvement participation provides.
Successful swim clubs provide the best possible environment for swimmers of any age or ability to improve in the sport. This is achieved through providing highly trained and experienced coaches, great facilities, and supportive participation from parents.
WHY THIS PROGRAM EXISTS
* MAC is a parent run program, it succeeds only with parent participation - this program defines the participation requirements
* There are approximately 2270 participation sign-up slots, over the course of a swim year, to put on in-town MAC hosted meets for our swimmers, it takes structure to accomplish this - this program provides the structure
* Participation is needed from all MAC families - this program is the foundation for equal participation from all members...their Fair Share
BENEFITS
* Member cost is lowered in 2 ways by MAC hosting in-town meets vs. our members having to travel to out-of-town meets - 1. dues are lower as hosting meets generates revenue, 2. travel cost is eliminated
* Showing support for your child's choice of activity and their effort to learn and improve
* Meeting parents with like values and parenting goals, forming new friendships
* Pride in association with a top ranked swim club that contributes to the local community as well as the national advancement of the sport of swimming

DO YOU NEED FAIR SHARE POINTS?
MAC is looking for individuals who are interested in training to become a meet director. The new fair share program offers 400 to 600 points for these apprentice positions--what a great way to quickly fulfill your fair share requirements and become trained in one of the most needed and vital positions at a swim meet! Apprentice opportunities are available for meets at both the Latin and Huntersville facility. MAC needs a steady supply of trained meet directors and these apprentice positions are the ideal way to learn directly from someone who is already knowledgable and has meet experience. You will be assigned to help an experienced meet director, at one of MAC's smaller meets, an ideal environment to learn. You may choose to apprentice several times, or until you feel confident enough to take on the position yourself and remember, you earn significant fair share points with each meet that you apprentice. We are especially looking for NOVA and BRONZE parents to train, so that your children can look forward to a future of well run swim meets as they age up through the MAC program. The role of the meet director is to host a well organized and efficiently run swim meet, providing the athletes an excellent competitive environment. They must be available to answer questions, resolve problems, and generally keep everything operating efficiently. The meet director relies upon a trained support staff to help him/her arrange for personnel, equipment and supplies and to process entries, print programs and distribute results from the meets. If you are personable, well organized and looking for a great way to contribute to your child's swim experience, please
